Bedtime Battles

We have ourselves a real battle of the bedtime going on around here. It's been over 2 weeks of this and man, it's getting OLD really fast. The past two nights haven't been so bad because the kids have had major playdates and are just exhausted, but it's typically driving Tom and I completely insane. They will NOT stay in their beds. One is always coming out (with a huge grin on their faces thinking they've come up with the perfect solution to get out of bed or be allowed to sleep on the sofa or with us) saying that the other one hit them, or they woke up scared (nevermind they've been in here 20 times before and obviously haven't been asleep). We got them to bed so easily before using Supernanny's techniques (she rocks, by the way). But man, they are testing our limits these days.

The funniest is when they BOTH come in here all smiles and tells us, in unison, "S/he hit me"... it's all I can do to hold it together and not start bursting out laughing at these two. They have obviously conspired together.

Tom and I are supposed to be the parents in this household, right? It's pretty bad when we are cracking up laughing to the point of not being able to use that "stern parent voice" that's supposed to send the kids into immediate submission.

Been there, done that and bought the proverbial t-shirt Candy and Tom!!! My oldest NEVER gave me problems with bedtime but my 6 year old has since birth and continues to every night. Not as bad now, but still.

Isn't being a parent fun???????

It's harder when you only have 2 hrs with them in the evening. I swear they just want to play but there's no time. It's gotten bad over here but they go down kicking and screaming. Hang in there!
