We're Moving!!

Yay! We've been really fed up with apartment living for a while now. Our upstairs neighbors are obviously a herd of elephants. There's no way that actual people can make this much noise. We've mentioned it to the leasing office in the past, but they've basically blown it off, we were told once "well, I'm sure it's not that bad, you guys have kids, I'm sure they are noisey too" Ummm... yeah. But anyone that's spent any real time in our apartment can attest that the upstairs neighbors are just horrible. I swear, it's a family of elephants, that's the only explanation. That and a continuing sink problem that never seems to get fixed. ANYWAY... so we found a house to rent. It's so perfect for what we were looking for - it's creepy, really, it's like the house was built just for us. The price is right and it has great schools. Jamie starts school next year and I was really unhappy with where he was going to go. It's right across the street, basically, from Lakeline Mall (which has the bouncy play place which the kids LOVE), so it's "way North", but let's face it, we work out of our home offices, it doesn't really matter, as long as a courier will deliver there, it's all good. Jamie will be going to Purple Sage elementary school in Round Rock ISD.

So we signed the new lease tonight and I took some pictures, of course. They still need to paint and do some other work, but here ya go...

This is the living room. I think when we walked in and I saw this I knew immediately I would want this house. Lookit those bookshelves! I know my bookcrossing friends are going "so what", but that's a lot of space for me! I'll never fill those up - we don't keep books, we release them. The living room and dining room are one long room - I can't wait. I've been saving up a little each month to get a new dining room set and I finally get to use it!

This is the kitchen. It's so great... it has a trash compactor, AND the stove is GAS! Yay!

This is the dinette, which will be my office. It's actually pretty big and it will be perfect because it looks out over the backyard!

Yes! We finally get a backyard! Jamie and Cassie are most excited about this development. It's not a huge yard, but it's not small either, so it will be great for them to run around in. And because my office will look out over the yard, I can work and watch them at the same time!

... and a final shot of Jamie and Cassie clowning around. Oh, and Tom gets his own room (it's a 4 bedroom, which means the bedrooms are kind of small, but it's a concession I'm willing to make) so he can play computer games WITH the volume on... until it gets to loud and I start bitching for him to turn it down, already!

The movers come April 20th. I swear I have the town wired, I got a great deal from a friend of a client :-) I'm glad, I don't want to do the "move ourself" thing again, we've moved twice in 3 years. I'm done.

It looks like there are other kids in the neighborhood too, so that's great, of course! And it has sidewalks. I know, I'm a freak. I hate neighborhoods that have no sidewalks or sidewalks only one side... what's up with that?

OMG I'm SO excited that I get to be FIRST to tell you I'm SO excited. We are SO gonna be BFF *grin*. You're about 4-5 miles from me. That yard is great by the way, bigger than mine. It was the BESTEST when Evan got old enough to play outside by himself. You're gonna love it!

The housewarming is as soon as I get my new grill;o)

I had a pretty nice one at our old house. But unfortunately, it didn't live long out at my parents house.

Can't wait to get started on those hockeypucks!!! Whoops...I mean "burgers". hahaha

Hahaha! That poor grill... I had forgotten about that thing, it was on it's last leg as it was... I'm surprised it made the trip. I'll never forget Jeannine and I nearly burning off our eyebrows trying to get the thing lit that night! *laugh*

Looks like a great house. It's so exciting and I'm glad you hired movers. That was the best money ever spent. Make them move all the boxes where ya want them....get those boxes labeled to make it easier. have fun.
