It's over... thank goodness...

It's 10:30pm on January 31st. I can feel most of the stress of the past week just seeping out of me. My goodness, what a crazy week. All the W2s went out for my clients today and the 1099s that we could send out are gone. Ahhh... I do have 2 weeks to get the finalized books to the CPAs, but still, the forms are over... that's a HUGE relief...

I love what I do, don't get me wrong, but the January stress is really rough sometimes. The flip side is that the rest of the year isn't so bad and the Summer is really nice... ahhhh... I can't wait for Summer... maybe we'll go back to Schlitterbahn again... that was so much fun!

Cassie Funny: Daddy in trouble...

This actually happened in early December, but I just remembered I never added to the old website, so here ya go...

Sometimes having Tom and I both here working is pretty cool. We swap off with the kids and take time out to do stuff together and stuff. I was sitting at the kitchen table working on a Christmas project with the kids (gluing foam pieces to a snowflake - Jamie's first time we let him do the glue himself!)... anyway, so Tom got up and started making faces behind me. This is the exchange:

Mommy: What are you doing, daddy?
Daddy: Nothing
Jamie: Daddy! You're lying... you're going to be in trouble
Cassie: 1, 2, 2, 1, 2, 2... alright, 2...

She then grabs Tom by the hand and puts him in the naughty chair! LOL!!! She sat there and watched him for a minute then made him say he was sorry and let him get back up... ROFLMAO... we were dying!

Good Customer Service

Okay, I always try to give kudos when I get good customer service (I'm also one to complain when I don't)... we have this single serve coffee maker and there's only ONE cup in the entire house that fits just right under it (okay, that's not true, it's just that I want the biggest cup I can find to put it in). So, I go to their website looking for more cups, but they aren't there. I emailed customer service where they told me they were discontinued... BUT that they had some in the warehouse and they would be happy to send me 2 of them... FREE. Yes. Free. I was shocked! What great customer service! Now, let me say that I do a good bit of business with these people, I use them a good bit to send client gifts, so I'm sure they looked me up and saw that, but still... I was quite impressed.

So, Kudos goes out to Fairytale Brownies - they seriously have the BEST brownies and make beautiful and memorable gifts for clients/friends/family.

Kids say the darndest....

Today I was talking to Cassie...her and Jamie were playing with a fire truck. I asked Cassie,"What is that Cassie?" She says,"Fire Fighter." I laughed,"What does a fighter fighter do?"

I expected...helps people, puts out fires, drives the truck, anything like that...

Cassie's response?

"He save's the Kitty Cat."

hehehe

Just in case there was ever any doubt, this is Tom's lego creation. Yes, that's a computer and the lovable Tux the penguin.

Most fathers would make a cowboy or a tractor or something while playing with the children. No, not Tom...

I guess I should be glad it wasn't some warlock or some other weird creature from his endless supply of computer games.

I have this friend, Susan from Meminisse Studios, who we visited last Summer. Anyway, she takes really great pictures... I got these in my in my email box today... OMG... amazing!

Kids say the darnest things...

Jamie is playing basketball. I say "playing", but really he just runs up and down the court following the other kids. During practice, Coach Bobby picked him up and let him make a basket. On the way home, I was telling Jamie he made a slam dunk... to which he replied "no, mommy... Coach Bobby is just telling me to cheat!" - seriously this kid has a huge moral compass... he was all worried that Coach Bobby was telling him to cheat! The horror!
