Sunday Six: Themeless

Thought I would participate this week - this is from Kelly. New rule: I separate them because Cassie parroted almost everything Jamie said... the child has a great memory *laugh* -- sorry so dark, I can't figure out how to lighten them up today, so whatever...

Joke: Feel like a woman

On a Trans-Atlantic flight, a plane passes through a severe storm. The turbulence is awful, and things go from bad to worse when one wing is struck by lightning.

One woman in particular loses it. Screaming, she stands up in the front of the plane. "I'm too young to die!" she wails. Then she yells, "Well, if I'm going to die, I want my last minutes on earth to be memorable! No one has ever made me really feel like a woman! Well I've had it! Is there ANYONE on this plane who can make me feel like a WOMAN??"

For a moment there is silence. everyone has forgotten their own peril, and they all stare, riveted, at the desperate woman in the front of the plane. Then, a man stands up in the rear of the plane. "I can make you feel like a woman," he says. This tall, tanned and built guy with jet black eyes starts to walk slowly up the aisle, unbuttoning his shirt one button at a time.

No one moves. As this man approaches, the woman begins to get excited. He removes his shirt. Muscles ripple across his chest as he reaches her, and extends the arm holding his shirt to the trembling woman, and whispers:

"Iron this."

Fun Note: This is post 100 on our blog... woohoo!

Pics of my new office..

Whew! We are finally moved into our new place and mostly set up. I've been working like a crazy person to catch up on client work so my space is kind of cluttered, but I thought I'd share pics of the new space.
http://www.offassist.com/blog/

It's quite an amazing space, really! It works well for my needs. Tom's office is no where near being photogenic, so it'll be a while until his pics of his space are posted :)

Playscape Completed & Climbing A Tree

It's done! I was really starting to wonder if it was ever going to be finished! I was up late last night working (like 4am) and Tom woke me right after noon and told me they had a surrise.. too funny!

Okay, seriously (and no offense to my sister who handed this down from her kid to mine), but this has to be the fugliest outfit ever. Yes, it's an OUTFIT. It's actually all one piece. Who in the heck decided these two patterns go together, I have no clue.... LOL... It's okay for playing in the backyard, but not to go somewhere! Yikes.

And they figured out how to climb into this great tree... I love the one of Jamie hanging out...

One more... this is so cute! Our next door neighbors have a little girl that will start school with Jamie this year - they have become fast and instant friends. They like to talk through the fence to each other. It's so freaking cute! My new neighbor is real nice too - funny... she is from Holland has a YA book written in Dutch about a little girl that moves next door to a little boy and they meet each other talking through the hedge between their houses... fate, I tell you, fate!

We had that family and Lisa and her two littlest Roses over for a cookout. I forgot to take pictures, but a good time was had by all and the ladies helped me drink a bottle of wine... yum!

Project Playscape: Neverending Phase 1

Tom's been occupied with other things the past few days so there's been an apparent work stoppage... that hasn't stopped the kids though...

Here they are "helping" him... it might get done... eventually... maybe :-p

Jamie's A Rocker Dude...

The boy's after my own heart...

Project Playscape: Phase 1 Completed

Yes, I know! It actually looks like something! The kids even went up the ladder and down the slide and it didn't fall over! WooHoo! Tom rocks!

As for the rest of it, well, it's still spread out all over my garage... it's gonna be a LONG week...

Dear Anderson Mill Residents....

Dear Anderson Mill Residents,

I apologize in advance for the string of curse words that will be coming from our backyard in the next few days. Please make sure that all small children are outfitted with earplugs.

Thank you,
The new people on the block

=====

In the continuing saga of "my children are the most spoiled children on the face of the Earth", Tom comes home with THIS:

It's in about 3 million pieces. The entire thing fit into two relatively small boxes (By the way, sale at WalMart.. SCORE!). Yes, I know, I hate WalMart too, but dude... it was a great sale, okay and some family chipped in for it.

Yes, there will be in-progress pictures because it's just too freaking funny. Tom can hardly build a paper airplane (love ya, babe). Who's taking bets that ours will look NOTHING like it's supposed to when he's done with it???

Tooth Watch (!!!) & Move Update

Jamie lost his first tooth! He was actually in his room pitching a fit over something or other and MiMi, Marcy and I were unpacking the kitchen while Cassie helped Daddy in the office. He really FREAKED OUT. Came into the kitchen with the tooth screaming that it fell out. Sigh, that's Jamie though, he's such a drama king. I hope the tooth fairy visits him tonight!!

This is Cassie, who woke up at 1am while Marcy and I were up chatting... I guess she needed some "spoil me rotten" cuddles from Auntie Marcy.

We are all moved in. I'd say about 2/3 of the way unpacked and stuff put away. Most of it is actually unpacked and put away, but it's all the little piles of stuff that's just sitting around. The garage is kind of a mess, but we're here. My office so totally rocks. Seriously. I feel like I can actually get work done in here... next week will be the true test, but so far... I'm in lurve... pictures when I get it more cleaned up ;)

Easter Pics - finally!

Ahhhh.... we survived Easter... well, barely... hehehe... some pics:

Cassie and Jamie were ultra excited when they got up in the morning and the Easter Bunny had been here...

Cassie was THRILLED over the "fairy princess" outfit she got...

Jamie was wondering how much candy he could eat....

We went to Tom's parent's house for Easter - the one they are building. I seriously nearly fainted from the heat. It was 100 degrees. New rule: if it's over 75 all holiday festivities must be held somewhere with air conditioning - yeah, I know I'm a city girl now, go away.

Here's MiMi hanging out in the conversation pit with Jamie and Cassie...

Someone brought a pool... the kids had a BLAST and I was wishing I had brought my suit!

Tom was smart and brought his... Jamie kept stealing the hose and chasing Tom around the pool with it. It was hilarious - I was, of course, egging him on because I thought it was hilarious... the "real" grown ups made him stop though - they were getting splashed... LOL.

Here's Jamie hunting for eggs. He's so funny because he doesn't just pick up anything, he's very particular and studies the whole thing...

Cassie, on the other hand, wants ALL the candy/eggs - MiMi made the outfit... too cute! The straps were the bunnies ears.

Here's "Baby Jack", my nephew - the 2nd cutest little boy ever

My kids LOVE pinatas. They saw them for sale on the side of the road (these suckers were HUGE, like 3' tall) and asked for one... I talked them into getting a smaller one somewhere else. This was an industructible rabbit... the guys ended up hitting it witha crowbar and then just ripping it apart.

Ahhh... the bunny slayer... that's my man... ;)

Cassie wanted to wear her Fairy Princess outfit when we got home. We let them "camp out" on the floor and when Marcy (my sister, who is visiting) went in, she found Cassie like this... yes, the insisted on taking their baskets to bed with them.

Baby Got Back: Anime Style!

So, here we are getting ready to move. I've just about got the kitchen completely packed. 'Cept the computer of course. She goes to the new house when I do;o)

Anyways... My feet are KILLING me... thought I'd make a little post about a GREAT anime video for "Baby Got Back". Yeah, showing my age. Still one of my favorite songs.

WARNING: THIS IS NOT FOR CHILDREN!!!!! ADULTS ONLY!!!

That said, Enjoy!

Easter... err... eve? activities...

First we dyed eggs... because we spoil our children, Casse did Hello Kitty, Jamie did Star Wars and us adults did some "egg spin" thing... note to selves: next year, do the shrink wraps BEFORE you dying because all the dye came off... *laugh*

Then Jamie and Cassie talked about the Easter Bunny and what he does! I, of course, got video!

And *gasp*... we turned around and when we looked back, the bunny had left the loot... Jamie made a valiant effort to stay away for it... maybe next year :-)

"Hey guys, my tooth is woggly"

So, obviously, I've figured out Mobile Blogging (Moblogging for short) - see the entries from this weekend. Totally cool... I'm such a geek, but we knew this.

So, we pick up the kids from their grandparents and about 10 minutes into the ride we hear Jamie say "Hey guys, my tooth is woggly"... we look at each other like "nah"... Just a couple of months ago his first permanent molars started to erupt (this was a little early because they usually come in around 6 years old). I knew we'd start loosing teeth soon, but I figured I had a LITTLE more time.

So, I turn around and feel... and yes, folks, we have our first loose tooth. Jamie wanted an explaination of why it was loose and what happens. He started crying because he apparently thought this meant he couldn't eat anymore (*laugh* Jamie is my worry-wart; he worries about EVERYTHING). So now he's excited because the tooth fairy gets to come.

Me? I'm gonna go find some ice cream to cry into.

Note: is it weird that Tom and I keep walking around singing a song about a tiny potty? (see previous post)... methinks we need a life.

Moblog: The Smallest Potty In The World

I know what you are thinking... WHY in the hell do Tom & Candy have a toilet on their blog... We are in San Antonio for a friends wedding and just checked into the hotel. notice how the tp is conveniently locaated right on top of your lap? We put the iron there for comparison. Pic doesn't do it justice... freakishly small potty

Moblog: in the car... in real time... *twitch*

WooHoo! Mobile blogging baby!!
Total geek meltdown over here.

SPF for April 7th - Fun with Photos!

This week's SPF is fun with photos and I LOVE to play with photos (although I'm not that great at it)... so I played... and came in right under the wire!

First up, NO FLASH. Not too bad... "I'm THIS many"

Perspective or whatever she called it... one of Tom from above (I just love lording over him *snort*) and one of Cassie, who really believes she's that big! Yes, I know I center my photos... go away.

Macro... okay, I did even better than that... I did the macro thing, used NO FLASH... and tilted the camera... I love this picture of her.. she's so beautiful!

Didya play?

Kindergarten Registration

Wow! Time sure does fly. Today I registered Jamie for Kindergarten. He will be attending Purple Sage Elementary (part of Round Rock ISD) starting in August. I met with two of the Kindergarten teachers and the Principal today, they were really nice. They took time out to play with Jamie while I was filling out the paperwork. While they were playing, they took notes on his abilities. They were pretty impressed by his ability to add already.

He looked so big compared to the 3 other kids that were there when we were. I'm so proud..but a little sad...

That whole "End of an Era" thing.

Cassie & The Accident

Warning: Gross - no, really gross... you've been warned...

So, we are sitting down at Chili's eating lunch today (I hate it when all your appointments run late and you just end up eating whereever you can find). We are in a booth. Jamie is sitting with Tom and Cassie is sitting with me. Jamie and Tom get up to use the restroom and when they come back, Cassie wants to go too (she just likes to check it out and wash her hands). So, Tom takes her, they go through the motions... they come back and the food gets there.

10 minutes later Cassie gets this really bad look on her face and tells me she has to go potty. I tell her she doesn't have to go, she just tried... that's when I smell it... and see it... oozing up over her pants (both front AND back) and into her SHOES - she's sitting on her feet.

I have 1 pull up and 2 wipes. Yeah, but seriously, who carries that much stuff around when they get that old? So, we get a bunch of bags from the waitress and Tom goes to get a bunch of paper towels from the bathroom. I get her and the booth cleaned up enough so that I can take her to the bathroom without scaring everyone away...

I ended up throwing away her socks and shoes, going through at least 30 wet paper towels, both wipes and 5 plastic bags. Poor thing! She was standing up on the baby changing station crying because it was "nasty momma!" I think something she ate yesterday didn't agree with her! But seriously, I didn't know that much poop can come out of a 3 year old!

So, after all that was over, we came out (her in just a shirt and pull up, we are serious white trash here people), finished dinner and came home. LOL.

Good times. Good times.

I have to say that the staff was really nice... they got what we needed (and quickly ran away, the place reeked!), but they did offer to help however they could.

Jamie Vs. James

We were in the car earlier today and we were talking about names. We passed by "The Pepper Place" and explained to him that it's REAL name was Chili's - just like his REAL name is James.

Jamie piped up "James is only my name when I'm in trouble"... *laugh*

We always call him Jamie unless we are trying to get his attention, then we call him James Howell, just like Cassie is Cassandra Erin when we need her attention.

It's funny, I can still hear my mother's voice saying "Candace Elizabeth!" and feel that prickle down my spine that can only mean that I've been caught...

Cassie's Working & Fun W/ Photoshop

Anyone that has been around Cassie in the past week knows that she's obsessed with her "work" - which is this junk mail thing we got in the mail a few months ago, she lost it and found it recently. It's a pocket thing and she's put all kinds of "important" papers in there. She won't even climb up the slide at the park without her "work". It's very important to her. It is only fitting that this would be her fortune cookie at dinner tonight (yes, this is the actual fortune, I'm not making this up... LOL!)

Bonus pictures because I was messing around with some "dark" actions in Photoshop.

WooHoo! Sleep children, sleep!

So we went over to a friend's house yesterday for dinner. They had just put in a playscape for their kids the week before and we helped them break it in... the kids had a blast! We didn't leave until 8pm (hey, that's late for us!). The kids basically played outside non-stop for 4 hours. We got them home, gave them a bath (well, Jamie took a shower, he takes showers now) and they basically collapsed. WooHoo! We finally wore them out enough! *laugh* We totally need to do that more often.

They also had a soccer goal which Jamie had a blast with... pics...

Jamie's Playoff Pics

Well, they didn't win, but we're very happy with 2nd place! Yay Mavericks! So that's it for basketball season... Coach Bobby, you rock!

... and one of me because everyone always says there never are any...
