The Pringles Song...

**Scroll down for the story and pictures from our trip to SC**

In the hotel, Jamie and Cassie decided to use the Pringles can as a drum and make up a song... I crack up when I hear "... 'cuz there were no more Pringles... and that was the end" LOL. My kid is a nut. But pay attention to his lyrics, at least they make sense! There was a Pringles store, someone bought them all, and then it closed down. Whatever, dude.

The Trip --- lotsa photos!

Whew! What a trip! We went to visit my family in SC over the holidays. We were there from the 15th until the 27th. We had a great time! I moblogged a good bit, so you can go through the past 2 weeks worth of blogs to see some of the stuff, but here's the run down and other photos (I also have some video I'll be posting next week assuming Tom gets it off of the camera for me!)

The trip there went well. We left in the evening and drove straight through. We hit NASTY fog from Shreveport all the way through Birmingham, which I, of course, ended up driving through. It put us 3 hours behind schedule, but I'd rather arrive alive than worry about the time issue! Ha!

The kids found some pine cones and stuff in the backyard at my family's house and made Christmas trees (their idea):

My niece, Marie, had cut her own hair so I offered to take her to lunch and get a haircut. Her mom wanted her hair short and Marie was NOT liking this idea. I got the bright idea to tell her that maybe if it was short we could make it spiky and put green in it! (Yeah, try finding green hair spray in December - love Sally's!). So, I had to follow through and the kids made their own little punk band!

Tom, Marcy and I took the three oldest kids to see the light trail at James Island Park. It was awesome and I wish I had thought to take some more pictures...

The first 4 pictures are of the loot Santa left! He came! He found us all the way in SC! The last 2 are the gifts to the kids from Tom and I.

Some other random shots:

We had a good time, but boy was I glad to be home! It was odd walking into a house that had been closed up for 2 weeks! It seemed almost dream-like and dreary. It was interesting to "feel" and see the house come alive and warm up as the kids starting moving stuff around, bringing in their toys, playing and having dinner. I really missed my office too. This is where I spend a good chunk of my life. It's my space, all mine! :-) Everything belongs in a certain place and darn it, it's there too! Thanks for having us, everyone in SC!

Now for what's really important here! The loot!

Jamie got: (from us) a Robopet, (from Marie/Michael) a room raider plane, (from Granny Grits/Marcy) a Spiderman place setting and PJs, and (from Santa) a Gameboy Micro with 3 games, a Roboreptile, a remote-controlled dragon, books, movies, games, misc crap.

Cassie got: (from us) Scamps Fur-Real dog, (from Marie/Michael) a dress up Ariel bridal gown, (from Granny Grits/Marcy) a Dora place setting and PJs, and (from Santa) a Dora Magic Castle with all the stuff in it, twin babies with twin stroller, crib, and swing/highchair, books, games, movies, misc crap.

I got: A bluetooth keyboard for my Treo, some Cube World guys, a Pink Floyd movie, INXS cd.

Tom got: A Nintendo Gameboy DS-Lite and 3 games. He also got some gag gifts (because I'm mean and hid the gameboy and games until after he had seethed - it was SO funny) - a vaccumn cleaner, some oven mitts (they are cute, they say "Sugar Daddy" on them), a Santa mug, and some xmas boxers.

Bedtime Antics...

We have a pretty set routine at bedtime and the kids usually do great. Cassie gives us a problem sometimes, but settles down pretty quick. I had read them their books and Cassie was doing her "don't leave me alone, I'm scared, no body likes me" wah wah wah... I usually let the kids tell me two things each while tucking them in so that they can't get up saying "I forgot to tell you..."

Conversation went like this:

Me: Wanna tell me your two things?
Her: No!
Me: Wanna tell me one thing?
Her: No!
Me: Wanna tell me three things?
Her: No!
Me (starting to get the giggles watching her pitch a fit): Wanna tell me 500 things?
Her (strangely quiet for a minute): But that might take all night, though!

Hey it shut her up and it was really funny. Promise!

Crochet Freaks

Okay. WHAT is with all these freaks crocheting and knitting lately? It's become like the cool thing to do. I can't do it, so maybe that's why I think it's weird... anyway, you put a group of ladies together at (yet another) book club meeting, one whips out the crochet stuff and... this, my friends, is how Dy crochets. I've NEVER seen anyone do it this way. It's weird. Just weird weird weird.

Cool clients...

I have the coolest clients... if you are ever looking for a Realtor here in Austin, look up Anne Haikola. I've been working with her and her husband, Bruce (a contractor) for a while now. They are both fantastic. They invited us to a holiday party (see my previous blog entries) and she sent me more pictures... the horse carriage ride was so much fun!

Christmas Take 1

Tom's mom and grandmother came over yesterday to give the kids their gifts before we leave (we are traveling to see my mother this year for the holiday). The kids got lotsa loot!

The hairdresser and the mess...

Dy came over last week with J and the kids played while all 3 of us got some work done... this is the price we paid (I swear, the pictures do not even begin to do justice to the mess)! BUT they had a great time, we got some actual work done. It's funny. We have these "work dates" from time to time and they are always a blast - and productive!

In other news, it appears I can give up my hopes for Jamie being a rich CEO of a Fortune 500 company...

Photos & Other Stuff

Whew! What a week. Last weekend was just one thing after the other. I went out with friends to see a band downtown (wonderful place, good music, no half-dressed 20 year olds, it was great!), then Tom and I went to a fundraiser dinner, then we had a family holiday party with one of my clients... tonight I had one of my book club groups over... I so totally need a vacation!

Pics from last weekend:

And I have to show this off... I have the coolest husband in the world. One of my book clubs (is it any surprise that I'm in more than one?) read Devil In The Details. I'm completely drawn to the cover of this book with it's perfect little OCD rows:

So for the meeting, he made special plates! Check it out:
