It's Soccer Time!

WooHoo! Jamie had his first soccer practice this evening. He did really well and seemed to have a really great time!
The team name is the Sharks! The problem is there are FOURTEEN kids. There's what? 6? kids at a time on the field. Dang.
It's through the YMCA, so it's very much non-competitive. While I believe in a little competition between kids, I think this is better than what we did for basketball.
Tom and I know exactly zero about soccer, not the rules, nothing. They weren't going to have practice next week and Tom really thought it was important for the kids to play again... so, yeah, he's volunteered to stand in next week. *laugh* This should be really funny!

Seriously, I think you and Tom are the coolest parents ever! :)
The way my son's league does it is that they break into two teams for games, and have four on the field at a time, with two alternates to swap in and out, to give the others a breather. Works well.
Keep us posted. Oh, and here's a hint: don't use your hands unless you're the goalie. :D
We start again this week!
