Ewwww... there's a reptile in my house...
The crabs are small and bury themselves... this thing... it's a freaking lizard. In my house. It has to stay in Tom's room. It's his birthday present. It better not touch me.
Welcome, Dakota... I refuse to so much as buy you a cricket. The kids are all excited and Tom's trying to figure out how to get the tank into the house while this thing sits on his desk staring at me.
I'll let Tom give the full scoop, but Dakota is a bearded dragon, about a foot or so long.

It's a freaking lizard.
IN MY HOUSE.
Surely this grounds for divorce, right? Sigh, but Tom has wanted one for forever and some friends were looking for a new home... and holy crap, they just brought in this things tank... do you KNOW how big 75 gallons is?
I must go murder my husband immediately.

Candy, seriously, these guys are great pets! They're kind of affectionate, and very clever. They're also some of the easiest herps in the world to take care of, from everything I've heard. I've wanted one for years, but I think we'd have to be kid- and cat-less to get one. I don't want it to get terrorized.
He's beautiful! And why the name Dakota? Is that what he came with? He needs a good dragon name. Chi-Yu or something. *laugh*
Welcome Dakota!!! What a gorgeous dragon! and what a good wife you are to let him have one. Now he'll have someone to keep him company on the late WoW nights. ;-)
Hey. At least it's not a ferret, right? Although, with all that concrete tile in your house, two ferrets would be HILARIOUS. And.... they're natural instinct is to protect their community from things like snakes and lizards.
Well...he came with Dakota....but secretly he will always be:
Magtheridon Candacebane
"Candacebane" ROTFLMAO!
A FOOT long? Gives me the willies and the shudders just thinking about it. *uuuuuuhhhhh*
A word to the wise from the wise...don't even try feeding it the crickets. Let me tell you. When one accidentally crawls out and touches your hand and you scream and drop the bag on the floor...NOT a fun picture and definitely NOT a fun couple of days following. :( I house-sat for some friends that had a bearded dragon. As long as it was in the other room it was fine until it came to feeding the thing. YUCK!!!
Well...its either Crickets....or the kids...
Hmmmm......
Um, thanks for sharing this one. Ewww. Now I'm all jumpy again! Maybe we need to move the movie night over here...
UGGGGGGGGG, I couldn't even look at it without getting the willies!!! GAK!! I HATE reptiles. You DEFINITELY are a great wife. There will never be a reptile in my home...EVER!!! ICK!
Ok Magtheri...what?????? LOL!!!!
I think Dakota is adorable. Ed thinks he's cool too. Ed has suggested though, Candy, that you take him OUT of the cage to photograph him! :)
Congrats on the new addition to your family!
LOLOL Enjoy the dragon ;)
Glad its you not me! ;)
