Still Alive -- Still Miserable
Okay, seriously, what deity did I manage to piss off and how do I fix it? We are STILL sick. The kids appear to be on round 2 (we think Cassie is starting round 3 actually, but who can count?). We just keep shifting this virus around between us and it just plain sucks. Seriously. We did take Cassie to the doctor and it's not the flu, it's just this virus that's going around. I swear, when I'm feeling better, I'm totally Cloroxing and Lysoling the entire house down so we can stop this insanity. The good news? (said sarcastically) The weather just said that the Cedar (which I'm highly allergic to) will be sky high this weekend. Perfect! Just in time for me to maybe start feeling better.
Poor Jamie has gotten the short end of this stick. He was sick for the last day of school with a tummy bug, then he had a few days of everyone being well before Cassie got sick right before xmas, then he got sick, then we were all to sick to care that he was bored and now he's got a fever AGAIN. He starts school, in theory, again on Tuesday.
And we are all on each others nerves. I think we all kind of hate each other in this house right now *laugh*. But we've been forcibly quarantined for WAY too long. I actually threatened to send Jamie to his room because of ketchup, but in my defense, he's being totally obnoxious the past couple of months. I call him Mr. Professor - because he knows EVERYTHING and I do mean EVERYTHING. No really. Just ask him. This was the conversation we had at dinner (after him giving me a lecture about the origins of dinosaurs):
Jamie: It's made out of tomatoes you know
Me: Yes, Jamie, please eat honey *sniffle* *blow nose*
Jamie: And it has some healthy stuff... see it says right on the bottle
Me: Please just eat, Jamie, we'll talk about it later, you don't have to read everything
Jamie: Mom! Let me finish... I'm trying to tell you something
Me: I know about the ketchup, just let it go
Jamie: But it also has sugar, which is not a healthy food, but it's okay as long as..
Me: Please let it go about the ketchup... that's it... go to your room
At this point Jamie and even Tom looked at me like I was crazy so I didn't actually make him go to his room, but seriously. How can one child know EVERYTHING?!?! He'll read a sign that says "One Way" or "Wrong Way" and start freaking out that I'm going the wrong way. I'm not an idiot! He makes me crazy sometimes. LOL!
So yeah, I probably shouldn't have lost it, but at what point do they stop that stuff? I may go crazy before then.

Oh girl - I'm SO sorry you guys are so miserable!!! I just can't imagine how horrible it is for all of you to be cooped up and sick. How about you all bundle up real good and open all the windows and try to air out all those germs? Sometimes I do that - whether it works or not, it makes me feel better to think I'm airing out the house. :(
I SOOOOO know what you mean about the kids knowing everything!! UGH!!!! Mason insists that he is right about everything. It's SOOO frustrating!!!! And Syd is big on the whole - "this is healthy, this is not healthy" lately. Which is good, but yes, can be frustrating.
Don't feel bad, I can totally see myself overreacting to the ketchup situation. I mean, you're sick and on your last nerve, so don't beat yourself up. This too shall pass right!!!!
{{{HUGS}}} Hoping those germs take a stinking flying leap - REAL SOON!!!!!
I can TOTALLY see the ketchup thing happening here... Sorry ou all are still sick!
