Work Sucks and I shouldn't blog this late... err... early.

I am so over this accounting crap. Next year, I'm quitting in December and we'll all go live out of cardboard boxes on the street for a few months. I'm exhausted. It's 4:15am and I'm just getting ready to head to bed. This is so not normal, people! I mean, I like the work and I know that this is the busy crazy time and that the Summer is one big lull, but dude, I HATE January. I hate 1099s. I hate W2s. I hate the IRS. I hate the social security administration. I hate all the states that cannot agree on one freaking rule so I have to keep looking crap up. I absolutely detest California. I'm always in this foul mood this time of the year. Oh, and my primary printer keeps getting stuck and is now saying it needs a new drum. I think it needs to be put out to the curb.

The good news? Because I stayed up so late, I shouldn't be completely crazy on Wednesday and Thursday. I've got a few that need some major TLC so that's a good thing. I'll just have to put the coffee maker to the ultimate test tomorrow. I'm going to bed - for... err... a nap.

(Yes, I let her have orange soda. Bite me, perfect Mommies).

What?

Oh, and did I tell you? The President of the PTA is moving. So that means Tom is now the President apparently. Just perfect. Like we don't have enough volunteer crap going on in this house.

Whatever.

Soccer Today With Cassie

No pics from Jamie's game today because I didn't go to that one. They had back to back games so we had to divide and conquer today...

Cassie did REALLY really well today. And she seemed to have a great time.

She was in such a good mood today. I wish I could say she was cleaning her room like we told her, she's being a brat now.

Happy Birthday, Tom

Tom's birthday was yesterday... Happy Birthday, Tom!

Tom and Cake

We actually celebrated it on Saturday and I had a couple of friends over for a girl's movie night, plus Dy came over with J, so we had dinner - one of Tom's favorite meals :) Anyway... here's some more pics...

Games Today...

I hate indoor photography. I obviously have no clue what I'm doing or something. These aren't horrible, but I miss my clear sharp pictures. This may be one of those you get what you get things. I don't want to be using the flash and ticking off everyone so I'm just playing... I "fixed" one by making it ink... hehehe... hey, it worked!

Cassie had soccer and Jamie had basketball. Tomorrow is Tom's birthday, but we celebrated today by going to Dave & Busters and I made that horrible chocolate cake he likes (I HATE making that cake, it's a huge pain, and it's WAY too chocolatey).

Cassie Kicks Ball

Okay, I probably shouldn't post this one, but it turned out pretty good and I just find it funny (and blackmail-able)

Jamie and Basketball

Indoor photography without flash SUCKS. Just sayin'

So, I took Jamie to practice and got some photos. They turned out okay. I took like 100 and 25 were good, I kept like 4. Not a great return on my time, but whatever, I had fun playing. So here he is in action :)

I also bribed Cassie into doing a few things for me, for the specific purpose of getting these photos :) I think they turned out pretty well for someone that doesn't know what they are doing.

And here's another one of the freaking lizard. It's still here. It was ticked with me for bugging it during it's bedtime.

Ewwww... there's a reptile in my house...

The crabs are small and bury themselves... this thing... it's a freaking lizard. In my house. It has to stay in Tom's room. It's his birthday present. It better not touch me.

Welcome, Dakota... I refuse to so much as buy you a cricket. The kids are all excited and Tom's trying to figure out how to get the tank into the house while this thing sits on his desk staring at me.

I'll let Tom give the full scoop, but Dakota is a bearded dragon, about a foot or so long.

Dakota The Bearded Dragon

It's a freaking lizard.

IN MY HOUSE.

Surely this grounds for divorce, right? Sigh, but Tom has wanted one for forever and some friends were looking for a new home... and holy crap, they just brought in this things tank... do you KNOW how big 75 gallons is?

I must go murder my husband immediately.

Soccer and Ducks

As you can see from my previous note, Cassie played. She started in with the crying again once we got there until we bribed her with promises of cheese dip. That worked for kicking the ball back and forth with one of the little girls there, but she still was being a snot. I then took her out there and stood with her and told her she had a choice. She could play with her team or she could stand out here in the middle of the room with everyone looking at her crying but we weren't going back to the stands. I then offered to go sit down in the circle with her near the coach and she agreed to come with me. We sat down in the circle (well she clung to me for dear life). Then we realized they were NAMING THE TEAM. Okay, this is serious business for the kids. We had lots of good choices, Spaceship Rockets, Monster Rockets, Spiderman, etc. Cassie gave her idea of The Sharks. AND they voted on it! She got the name and they are called the Sharks. This immediately started her talking to a little girl next to her and I was able to slink away. She played and practiced and was fine and is looking forward to her first game.

What the heck?

Whatever. It worked.

No photos of practice, that was part of the deal - she said I can take pictures at the game - I still need to figure out how to take decent indoor pictures of sports. I'm sure I'm just doing it wrong. Where the heck is Kami?

We got there early so I took some photos of the ducks there and the kids. It was cold, so we didn't last long out there!

Enjoy and *dripping sarcasm* Happy January!

Sleepover Time!

In a moment of insanity last week, in order to get the kids to agree to whatever it was I wanted them to, I agreed to have a sleepover with them on Saturday night. In my bed.

I don't know what I was thinking. Jamie kicks and Cassie worms her way UNDER you and pokes you with her elbows.

But it was nice. I've been so busy the past 2 weeks that my poor kids probably only recognize me if I've got the nice glow of the computer monitor shining off of my forehead. We played games, we had snacks in bed (don't tell Daddy! *snicker*) and read books and just hung out.

We really do have the best kids in the entire world... anyway, they were being cute watching each other play Gameboys, so I grabbed the camera (I semi-suck taking indoor photos without a flash, I think I need a new lens - RIGHT VICKI?) *warning look at Heather*

Cassie's First Indoor Soccer Practice...

.... didn't go so well. Cassie LOVES soccer so I'm a bit confused as to why she freaked out. We think it was a combination of having new teammates, being tired, being hungry, and how LOUD it was in there. There were 4 teams practicing in there and it was LOUD. We talked about it and she's going to try again next week - with earplugs *laugh*

So, she went out there for a few minutes...

Cassie Playing

... and spent the rest of the practice crying to go home...

Cassie Not Playing

... I think I need a new lens... something faster for indoor? I'm not sure, sounds like a trip to the camera store may be in my future *maniacal laughter*

Pictures and Ramblings

We are all on the mend, but still got that icky cough thing, but we are all feeling human and in better spirits. Cassie had an off day, but now and then she just does.

I started my new photography class online this week. I took some all-manual photos and they turned out pretty decent. I was pleased :)

It's supposed to have a tiger on it!

So, yesterday, we went to the store and Cassie asked if she could choose some cereal and I said "yes, as long as it's healthy and not junk". She picked Frosted Flakes, but since I was choosing some fig newtons for myself, what the hell, right? Tom comes by and tells me I'm nice, he doesn't let her get the name brand frosted flakes, but I've already done it now, so she gets to keep them.

I'm still not 100% well, so after laying down for six hours or so, I have to get up because there's so much crap in my head and chest, I cannot breathe. So, at 6am, I get up for a bit and at 7am, I'm ready to lay back down for an hour or two. Only there's Cassie walking into the room. She loudly proclaims that SHE wants breakfast. Ummmm... so much for more sleep, eh?

So, we pad off to the kitchen where she tells me she wants frosted flakes. It's early, I don't have my glasses so I'm bumbling around looking for a bowl and milk... she's lecturing me that it's SUPPOSED to have a Tiger on it. I show her that it DOES have a tiger while I make the child her cereal. But she's still ranting and raving about the stupid Tiger.

Seriously, folks, this is marketing at it's best. *laugh*

She just came back in with her bowl... she might have eaten 3 bites... and then started crying. Why? She wanted to watch cartoons. Can a 4 year old have PMS?

It's gonna be a long day....

Ahh.... I feel mostly human!

I've still got the left over stuff, but I think we are all finally well! My ears hurt from all the crap that's stuffed up in there, but no one is running a fever, no one has a runny nose... ahhh....

More later. Just had to post something GOOD for a change. LOL!

The day from hell and beyond...

So, let's see how my week went, shall we? Everyone was sick at some point. I spent the good part of Tues in the bed either sweating or shaking with the chills. I was so sick. I spent Wed feeling like crap, but I worked - I was supposed to go to a client, but I just couldn't so I postponed a day. So, I went on Thursday...

Thursday. Oh, Thursday. It was the best day EVER - NOT. It started with me on the side of Interstate 35 with a flat tire, being late for an appointment, still sick as a dog, and ended with $700 at the tire place cuz we needed 4 new tires and an alignment. I actually have a long tirade about customer service (mostly good), but I'll post that on my biz blog later.

Yeah.

I was sick on Friday. Oh, and I'm still sick today. All that crap has moved up into my head and sinus cavities. I'm absolutely dying. I'm taking a decongestant and some headache meds and it's helping. I am pretty desperate though and made Tom go get me something called a neti pot. It's this little pot with a long spout, you stick it up your nose and water comes out the other nostril. It "cleans" your sinus out. Whatever. I can breathe better, but I got salt water in the back of my throat while trying to figure it out. It did work okay though. I can breathe better. It was freaking weird though.

Anyway. I'm still sick, feeling better though.

Tom bought the kids rakes because they told him to. I told him to buy KID sized rakes. Do THESE look kid sized to you? I keep waiting for someone to get hurt out there. They say they are gonna rake all the leaves in a pile so they can jump in them.... ummmm... okay.

At least the kids seem to be all better - save the leftover cough.

Still Alive -- Still Miserable

Okay, seriously, what deity did I manage to piss off and how do I fix it? We are STILL sick. The kids appear to be on round 2 (we think Cassie is starting round 3 actually, but who can count?). We just keep shifting this virus around between us and it just plain sucks. Seriously. We did take Cassie to the doctor and it's not the flu, it's just this virus that's going around. I swear, when I'm feeling better, I'm totally Cloroxing and Lysoling the entire house down so we can stop this insanity.

The good news? (said sarcastically) The weather just said that the Cedar (which I'm highly allergic to) will be sky high this weekend. Perfect! Just in time for me to maybe start feeling better.

Poor Jamie has gotten the short end of this stick. He was sick for the last day of school with a tummy bug, then he had a few days of everyone being well before Cassie got sick right before xmas, then he got sick, then we were all to sick to care that he was bored and now he's got a fever AGAIN. He starts school, in theory, again on Tuesday.

And we are all on each others nerves. I think we all kind of hate each other in this house right now *laugh*. But we've been forcibly quarantined for WAY too long. I actually threatened to send Jamie to his room because of ketchup, but in my defense, he's being totally obnoxious the past couple of months. I call him Mr. Professor - because he knows EVERYTHING and I do mean EVERYTHING. No really. Just ask him. This was the conversation we had at dinner (after him giving me a lecture about the origins of dinosaurs):
Jamie: It's made out of tomatoes you know
Me: Yes, Jamie, please eat honey *sniffle* *blow nose*
Jamie: And it has some healthy stuff... see it says right on the bottle
Me: Please just eat, Jamie, we'll talk about it later, you don't have to read everything
Jamie: Mom! Let me finish... I'm trying to tell you something
Me: I know about the ketchup, just let it go
Jamie: But it also has sugar, which is not a healthy food, but it's okay as long as..
Me: Please let it go about the ketchup... that's it... go to your room

At this point Jamie and even Tom looked at me like I was crazy so I didn't actually make him go to his room, but seriously. How can one child know EVERYTHING?!?! He'll read a sign that says "One Way" or "Wrong Way" and start freaking out that I'm going the wrong way. I'm not an idiot! He makes me crazy sometimes. LOL!

So yeah, I probably shouldn't have lost it, but at what point do they stop that stuff? I may go crazy before then.
